International Scientific Communications in 2016

In 2016, 69 scholars (in 38 groups) paid international visits to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries for cooperative research and international conferences. The institute has also hosted the scientific visits of 45 foreign scientists and scholars in 34 groups from different international institutions including the British Birmingham University, the Canadian National Institute, etc.

In 2016, the Institute attached significant importance to the strategic cooperation with top foreign research institutions and universities. Leaded by the secretary Zhao Xichao, delegations paid visits to a number of reputable universities in the United States, including the University of California, Los Angeles. For the recruitment work of the First Action of the Hundred Talent Plan in CAS, various activities such as seminars were organized for candidate search and recommendation, which played an important role in promoting the international cooperation and establishing an international reputation.

In addition, the Institute also signed strategic cooperation agreements with the University of Sheffield (UK), the German University of Munich (Germany), Stuttgart University (Germany), the University of Hong Kong in the research areas of new energy and renewable energy; and signed a cooperation memorandum with the University of Birmingham (UK) in the research areas of distributed energy system and energy storage, which laid a solid foundation for the future cooperation.
