Research Team

In 2024, under the leadership of the Institute's leadership team, the Institute deeply studied the spirit of national and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) talent work conferences, earnestly implemented the requirements of “Several Measures of the Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Strengthening Talent Work in the New Era”, and closely focused on the goal of ensuring the occupation of scientific and technological commanding heights. We deepened personnel and talent reforms, and carried out talent cultivation and introduction work in an all-round way. The Institute achieved remarkable results in talent work in 2024, with more than 20 staff awarded various national and ministerial-level talent projects. Specifically, there was 1 new recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 for the Leading Project in Special Fields, 1 for the China Young Women Scientists Award, 1 for the China Youth Science and Technology Award, 1 for the CAS Young Scientists Award, 1 for the Beijing Young Scholar, 1 for the Beijing Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 for the National Talent Program (Youth Project), 2 for the CASlevel Talent Program (Youth Project), 2 for the Special Field Youth Project, 2 for the Youth Talent Support Program, 1 for the Beijing Science and Technology New Star; 2 people were filed for the CAS Talent Introduction Program (Youth Project), and 2 were selected for the postdoctoral project, etc.

Aiming at the talent needs of tasks such as occupying scientific and technological commanding heights, the talent introduction work was promoted in levels. For overseas talent introduction, a talent introduction team composed of institute leaders, laboratories, and the Personnel Department went to internationally renowned universities and research institutions for targeted introduction; for outstanding young talents, the Institute expanded publicity through campus job fairs in counterpart universities, academic lectures, etc., continuously improving the quantity and quality of fresh graduates and doctoral recruitment. In 2024, the Institute recruited 29 doctors and postdoctors from home and abroad.

The Institute has gradually formed a systematic talent cultivation system. The Excellent Young Doctor Talent Support Program has unblocked the channel for discovering and cultivating excellent young doctor talents; the Excellent Training Program selects and cultivates high-level basic research talents; the Climbing Talent Program helps key technology research; the Outstanding Contribution Award sets a benchmark and creates a scientific research ecology of seeking truth and being pragmatic. In 2024, the Institute's Excellent Young Doctor Talent Support Program supported 4 staff; the Excellent Training Program supported 9 staff; the Climbing Talent Program added 23 staff, and the Outstanding Contribution Award rewarded 2 teams and 1 individual.

The Institute continued to improve the talent classification evaluation system and preferential policies for major tasks, focused on positions for occupying scientific and technological commanding heights, took contribution degree evaluation as the key point, and inspired young talents to strive to carry out key technology research. The assessment system was improved, and linked with performance. The Institute's performance quota accounting was inclined to major tasks to help major tasks be completed on time and with high quality. 

The Institute adheres to the principle of the Party managing cadres and talents, continues to take ideal and belief education and training as the focus of the construction of the cadre and talent team, grasps the ideological “master switch” of the cadre team, and strengthens political guidance. 11 leading and backbone talents were selected to participate in a series of special national conditions study classes, national conditions inspections, and other important training; cadres and talents were organized to attend training on studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and special training on studying and implementing XI Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, with a training scale of more than 110 person-times; special training for improving the performance ability of cadres was organized.

The Institute actively creates an environment for dedicating oneself to researching, guarantees admission of talent’s children to kindergartens and schools, does a good job in policy interpretation and school enrollment guidance, and solves the worries of scientific research backbones. Through active coordination, 8 children were admitted to kindergartens, 11 entered primary schools, 6 entered middle schools, and 2 were assisted in transferring schools. We continues to pay attention to the health of employees by customizing physical examination items.
