On July 1, 2026, the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics (IET), Chinese Academy of Sciences, grandly held a Party members' assembly to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). More than 500 attendees participated, including the Institute's Party and administrative leaders, veteran Party members, Party members and activists from the Beijing headquarters and various test bases. The meeting was presided over by Xu Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee.
During the meeting, all Party members watched the live broadcast of the celebration ceremony for the 105th anniversary of the CPC and listened to General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech. Facing the Party flag, all members solemnly took the oath to reaffirm their commitment to the Party. The assembly also honored recipients of several awards, including the "Four Good" Party members of central and state organs, the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Two Excellents and One Advanced" (advanced grassroots Party organizations and outstanding Party workers), as well as IET's 2025 advanced Party branches, outstanding Communist Party members, outstanding Party workers, "May Fourth Stars," and advanced collectives and individuals in confidentiality work. Institute leaders and Party committee members presented trophies and honorary certificates to the awardees.
Wei Yongpeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, delivered a warning education report on establishing and practicing a correct view of performance achievements, drawing on typical cases from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In his concluding remarks, Party Secretary Xu Gang called on all Party branches and members to remain true to their original aspiration, keep their mission firmly in mind, prioritize national interests, and courageously shoulder national responsibilities. As a national strategic scientific force in the field of energy and power, he emphasized that the Institute must clearly recognize the weight of its responsibilities. It must take the lead and set an example in the race to secure the commanding heights of science and technology, strive to win the tough battle for leadership in energy and power technology, and greet new and greater victories with high-quality development achievements.
