On June 10–11, 2009, the 5th China International Symposium and Exhibition for Distributed Energy was hosted by the China Energy Network at the Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing. The Symposium is nucleated with the development of a recycling economy, promotion of energy-saving emission reduction, and scientific use of distributed energy, and focused on such themes in the area of distributed energy as strategic development of distributed energy in China, strengthening of intelligent power network, heavy chemical industry, rural and urban energy use, and academic discussion in depth. Academician Jianzhong Xu at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics gave an invited talk, Meet the challenge of financial crisis, accelerate the development of advanced energy technologies and promote sustainable economic development. More than 100 leaders, experts and scholars in domestic and international departments and corporations attended the conference. In addition, a number of well-known enterprises engaging in the field of distributed energy at homeland and abroad participated in the exhibition.
