The Journal of Thermal Science is an international journal of thermal and fluid sciences in English language sponsored by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It publishes high-quality papers of original work on experimental, numerical and theoretical investigations from contributors throughout the world. The scope of the Journal covers the following aspects: engineering thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, aerothermodynamics of internal flows, heat and mass transfer, combustion and reaction; sustainability of energy systems; energy conservation and storage; energy efficiency and climate change mitigation; renewable energy; nuclear energy; building, urban and distributed energy systems; cooling and refrigeration, heat pump; transport energy and emissions; operation, diagnostics and control of energy systems; energy policy and management. Review papers and scholarly research articles of high scientific/technical quality related to the development, advancement, and improved understanding of energy, power and environment sciences are sought. The Journal also incorporates technical notes, short communications, and discussions on previous published papers. The journal is indexed by SCI, EI, CSCD, CNKI and so on.
In the year of 2017, 6 issues were published, altogether 72 papers. The authors were from China, Japan, Korea, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Algeria, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, United States etc. The journal is co-published by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Springer-Verlag and Science Press. Springer-Verlag is in charge of the sale abroad. In 2017, the number of full paper downloads of the Journal of Thermal Science from Springer Link was over 30,000. In five consecutive years, the journal received the Prize of Elegant Academic Journal with World-wide Influence by the Chinese Academic Journal International Evaluation Research Center.
