Government-Industry-University-Research-Application jointly held the seminar of Advanced Clean Coal Electricity Cogeneration in Lian Yungang at April 10,2011. Yang Shengshi, Major of Lian Yungang City, relevant leaders from economic development zone, Xiao Yunhan, vice president of Nanjing branch of CAS and head of Energy and Power Research Center, attended this seminar. Leaders and experts participated in the seminar from Energy and Power Research Center, Yongtai Energy Limited Liability Company, Jiangsu Zhongkeyunhai Clean Energy Investment and Development Co. Ltd, East China Electric Power Design Institute, Donghua Tech Co., Ltd, Shanxi coal transportation group, Xian Thermal Engineering Insititute and Southeast China University.

Rearcher Zhang Shijie introduced the technology of IGCC and its application prospect. So did the key tech of advanced clean coal for electricity cogeneration and the researching and demonstration application in the area of system integration. Doctor Wang Bo reported the primary program of Jiangsu Yongtai electricity generation limited company’s clean coal for electricity cogeneration. Expert from East China Electric Power Design Institute introduced the pre-feasibility study plan for Jiangsu Yongtai electricity generation progrom. And expert from Donghua Tech Co., Ltd introduced the tech of coal gasification and its application.

Representatives discussed deeply on the demonstration application and industrial development of clean coal for advanced electricity cogeneration. They pointed out the IGCC tech is a strategic choice for the state’s electricity generation using coal, clean fuel, chemical materials and usage for low carbon. They linked personal experience and said： The key technologies such as combustion chamber of the gas turbine and gas made from coal for gas turbine were controlled by few foreign companies for a long time and they were technological bottleneck of development for the advanced and clean electricity cogeneration; Current gasification tech’s ability of load regulation was low and hard to adjust our state’s coal half of which contained too much ash and had a high melting point, so accelerating the development speed of new gasification technologies such as dense-phase transport bed was needed; In order to meet the low carbon’s need, developing gas turbine using hydrogen and new gasification combined with carbon dioxide caption were urgent. In the seminar, early demonstration tech program of Yongtai clean coal for electricity generation was discussed too.

Yang Shengshi figured out that the seminar was very important for the EPRC’s researching and its result’s demonstration and popularization; The government would continue supporting the center to push forward technology innovation, speed up the application and benefits society as soon as possible. Zhang Shaohua affirmed fully the center’s research platform, demonstration and industrialization of clean coal for electricity cogeneration technology; It had a basic and leading position in solving the urgent problem of coal’s clean and high-efficient usage.
