IET held the inaugural meeting of Gas Turbine Lab in the January 28. Some researchers and graduates in the area of gas turbine and related person from management support department attended this meeting. Guiju Liu, Deputy Secretary of CAS High-tech Bureau, was present and Ping Zhang, Secretary of the Party Committee, moderated this meeting.

Director Wei Qin read out that the Gas Turbine Laboratory was established and the appointment file of the director and deputy director: Junqiang Zhu served as lab director and Qinchun Tan as Deputy. 

Junqiang Zhu, Deputy Director, made a keynote speech. He analyzed the current international and domestic situation of gas turbine research and the IET’s develop road and current problem. He also introduced the gas turbine lab’s preliminary work ideas and operating mechanism.

Director Wei Qin reviewed the efforts made on the integration of gas turbine direction from 2007 to 2010. He pointed out that the integration of the gas turbine lab was a major event to meet the national and the institute’s need. He thought establishing the lab for integrating the limited resources and building a competitive team meet the need of basic and high-tech research in the area of gas turbine. Secretary Zhang called all party members to play a pioneering lead with a positive attitude in the future and to work together to build the IET.

Guiju Liu, Deputy Secretary, emphasized that IET had achieved some encouraging results and hoped the institute regarded the Gas Turbine Lab established as an opportunity to make new contributions regretless for the time and the country around the CAS’s the twelfth five-year plan.
