The project of the thermodynamic simulation and experiment scheme design of the trough solar energy collecting system is completed successfully.

On November 17th of 2010, the project of the thermodynamic simulation and experiment scheme design of the trough solar energy collecting system was reviewed successfully by China Huadian Corporation, which denotes the project is successfully completed. This experiment system is the first one that is put into use in Langfang base of IET.

The laboratory of total energy and renewable energy is among the first to carry out the research of the principle and experiment of the trough solar energy collector system. Through the research of the project, they developed thermodynamic simulation software of the trough solar energy collector. The success of this project indicates that IET has achieved a lot on the design and experiment analysis of the trough solar energy collector. We have mastered the crucial technology so that we can provide technology support for using the trough solar energy to generate electricity.

The technology of the trough solar power generation has the advantage of low cost and it is highly commercialized. So far, only the United States, Spain, Germany and Israel have mastered this technology. This project’s success indicates that China has made important progress in the research of the trough solar power generation technology.
