December 3rd, the expert forum of “Hekang Frequency Conversion” academic activity month was held successfully at the hall of IET. It’s the last forum of this series of activities. Professor Yuan Xin, who is the Party Secretary of Department of Thermal Engineering in Tsinghua University, and Professor Gan Xiaohua, who is the Chief Engineer of Air Force Armament Research Institute and part-time researcher of IET, were invited to give presentation at the forum. Director Qin Wei and Vice Director Zhu Junqiang of IET attended the forum.

The forum started at 1:30 pm, Director Qin Wei gave an inaugural address first. After affirming the significance of this event, he pointed out that academic exchanges between the experts within and without the institute was good for strengthening academic interactions, inspiring the researchers and promoting the innovation at work.

Then, the expert forum officially began and the two experts made wonderful speeches respectively. The report of “Mechanism of Internal Flow in Turbomachinery Design and Optimization” presented by Professor Yuan won thunderous applauses from the audience, as well as the report of “Development of Equipment” introduced by Professor Gan. In the Q & A session, students asked questions actively. Experts’ broad and profound knowledge and humorous language pushed the academic atmosphere to a climax. Unfortunately, experts could not answer each question from students because of limited time. Director Qin promised that there would be more expert forum like this and more experts would be here for academic exchanges.

As the sponsor of IET’s academic activity month, Zhang Tao, the vice president of Beijing Hekang Yisheng Frequency Technology Co., Ltd, made a speech after the expert forum. He introduced the development and the leading position of Hekang Frequency Companyin China, and also shared the experiences of professional development, production and sales of the company. His speech attracted every audience.

After the speech, Director Zhu made a summary of the academic activity month. He emphasized that the goal of this activity was to build a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers and to promote researchers and graduate students’ academic interaction and innovation.

At last, the academic activity month ended with the award ceremony. Leaders of IET and Vice president Zhang Tao awarded "Institute of Engineering Thermophysics Young Scholar Award" and "Institute of Engineering Thermophysics Best Paper Award" respectively. Director Zhu expressed his sincerest congratulation and hope to them on behalf the staff and students of institute. He hoped young scholars and graduate students can achieve greater achievements and progress in the future and add luster to the institute.
