LED Cooling Technology of IET Showed in the Advanced Technology Trade Exhibition

November 16th-21st, the 12th advanced technology trade exhibition was held at Shenzhen exhibition centre. The topic of this exhibition is “science guiding change, innovation promoting development”.

The exhibition zone for CAS is located at the fifth hall, which covers about 3700m2. This exhibition is the largest exhibition that CAS has ever taken part in. It is the first time for CAS to exhibit their achievements in an exclusively-used hall. The exhibition focuses on the cooperation between CAS and provinces and also aims at developing a new model that links the manufacture and research together.

In the exhibition, the heat and mass transfer centre of IET showed their LED micro grooves phase-change cooling technology. Li Xinghua (the director of science and technology office of Guangdong province), Wang Ling (the associate mayor) and Chen Yong (the president of CAS Guangdong branch) consulted the principle, the application field and the future of industrialization of this technology, when they inspected the exhibition platform of IET. Tang Dawei, the research fellow from the heat and mass transfer center of IET introduced LED technology in detail. This technology attracted lots of audience and enterprises’ attention. They asked many questions in which they were interested, and some enterprises even expressed their willingness to cooperate.

The LED cooling technology can solve the cooling problem of high-power LED devices and reduce the weight and volume of LED devices considerably. The government of Nan-hai district and IET had reached an agreement that the government would support IET to set up a LED heat conduction material and cooling technology research centre in Foshan. In the future, they will realize the industrialization of high-power LED heat sink and develop high-quality LED product. This cooperation will fully utilize IET’s advantage in the field of LED cooling technology and raise the competition ability of LED industry in Foshan.
