Professor Ye Huang from University of Ulster Visited IET

On September 12th-19th, Professor Ye Huang, a researcher from University of Ulster visited the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IET) for an exchange. The visit is funded by the international cooperation subject from International Cooperation Ministry of Science.

Prof. Huang Ye received his master’s degree from Southeast University, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Ulster. His interest area is the carbon capture and storage, the energy system modeling and analysis, power optimization and so on. So far, he has hosted or taken part in many projects with research funds, including FP6 and FP7 for European Union, Curie Marie project, the National Natural Science Foundation of England and so on. The total fund is over 600 million pound, and more than 60 academic papers are published.

Prof. Huang Ye visited the experimental platforms located in the institute. He gave a high degree of evaluation for the scientific research work. On September 17th, He had a report. on “Sustainable Techno-economic Solutions for the Farm Waste Value Chain” and made a warmly academic exchange with the researchers of IET. During his visit to IET, Prof. Huang Ye met with Dr. Haisheng Chen, Vice-Director of the IET.

They carried out in-depth exchanges about project cooperation, policy support, student training and so on. Through the visit, they hope to make a further enhance understanding and strengthen the cooperation between the IET and University of Ulster.
