Professor Francis Kulacki in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota in the United States was invited by the director, Dawei Tang, and Dr. Xuegong Hu at the Center for Heat and Mass Transfer and visited the Center for Heat and Mass Transfer at the Institute of the Engineering Thermophysics on the afternoon of May 27, 2009. Professor Francis Kulacki used to serve as a president of the Branch for Heat Transfer in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a chairman of some departments at such universities as the University of Minnesota, University of Delaware and Colorado State University in the United States, and has gained a high academic reputation. During his visit, Professor Francis Kulacki discussed hot issues in the field of heat transfer with professors and graduate students at the Center for Heat and Mass Transfer, and visited some laboratories at the Center for Heat and Mass Transfer. Dr. Xuegong Hu, Research Professor Wei Qu, Associate Research Professor Shiqiang Liang and Assistant Research Professor Xinghua Zheng showed Professor Francis Kulacki research projects and progresses in their laboratories at the Center for Heat Transfer.
